The Mercantile is a house built in the 1930's by the owner at that time , Slim Rosebrock, out of reclaimed lumbar from the torn down Live Oak County Court House.  The Court House was also located on the Town Square and like the Jailhouse was built in the 1870's.  It is a sturdy little house and the original wood used from the court house is rock solid.

Mr. Rosebrock also utilized reclaimed lumbar from the Court House to construct the bedrooms upstairs in the jailhouse when he converted it into a home for his family.
